I bought the 623 which was a huge failure. Stiff, especially in the toe box so when you stepped forward, the crease in the leather would push against the top of the foot making it practically unwearable. Thinking New Balance must be better than this, I thought I'd give them one more chance, spend a little more money and get the 1011. I must say it was well worth the extra expense. The shoe is noticeably lighter which is likely having a flexible mesh toebox instead of leather. I took out the insole and put in my orthodics which fit perfectly since the measuring size is reasonably accurate unlike the Asics which I've read consistantly has problems with sizes. Walking around in it, my foot and ankle had stable support and the shoe bends rolling through the step smoothly almost like a running shoe. I could see it as a running... They fit like a glove and are true to size as are all New Balance shoes I've ever bought. I have a pair of the MR1011's that I have used for circuit training this last year. They will be relegated to everyday shoes and the MX1011"s will be for the workouts. They did take a bit of breaking in though. I have used these exclusively for my workouts and have had no problems during the high impact plyometrics or kenpo. They are very stable and have have excellent cushioning. I also love the laces. When pulled tight, they don't slip and loosen which is important in side to side movements.Excellent product. |
